Breakdance

Breakdance, also known as b-boying or b-girling, is an expressive and energetic dance style that originated in the streets of New York City. With its acrobatic moves, fast footwork, and incredible strength, breakdance has conquered the world as a fascinating form of self-expression and artistic creativity.

Breakdance is also part of hip-hop culture but is different from hip-hop dancing. It is a dance style that involves the use of unconventional supports like hands and head. Learn the coolest moves like the backspin, turtle, and flair!

Breaking will be a new sport at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which will further increase interest in this dance form.

Lessons are available for ages 6 and up, with different age groups and levels.

From April 1, it is no longer possible to take a trial lesson because we are already well into the preparations for our final performances and otherwise you would only be lagging behind. This is possible again in our last week of classes before the summer holidays, which is from June 24. You can already register for this using the button below.

FAQ

If I have done a trial lesson, can I register immediately?

That is certainly possible, if you can do a trial lesson, there is always room to register for the same group. If the group is full, you cannot do a trial lesson in that group.

What clothes do I wear to breaking?

For breakdance or breaking, it is best to wear clothes that allow you to move well and freely, so skinny jeans are not very handy. Also make sure you don’t get too hot in it too quickly, hip-hop is quite intensive, so a t-shirt is always good. If you are a bit further you will also use your head as a support point and many use a hat to provide some protection.

Are we also going to do a battle with the lessons?

The battle is an important part of breakdance, so yes, that will certainly be part of the lessons.
